Detailing your cars
How crazy do you guys (and gals) get when detailing your cars for events like this? Assume that I'm talking about just EXHIBITING your car, not having it judged in the show.
I've notice two basic schools of thought: Those who keep their cars very clean year 'round (MUCH cleaner than "normal" folks), and those who let them go, but thoroughly and meticulously detail them once a year.
Into which camp do you fall?

Day One
My wife and I just finished 9+ hours of DAY ONE of three (projected), preparing three cars for exhibition at Waterfest. Today consisted of minor mechanical repairs/wiring clean-ups, etc., paint touch-ups, cleaning interiors (vac., wash, detail), trunks, minor engine compartment goings over (DEFINITELY NOT spotless!), rotating tires, etc.
Next will be doing all of the above to the third car (it wasn't with us), one bit of mechanical maintenance, washing and waxing exteriors, checking tire pressures, detailing exterior trim, etc., etc.
Of course we'll have to clean up the garage after all of this.
All of this and they will still not be perfect!
My back hurts!!!
See you all there.

Day Two
Further minor mechanical bits, cleaning trim, picking up garage, getting to two "antiques" inspected, and on and on.
Getting excited. Hope the weather is good!
