Default Dunlop Winter Sport M2's....Reviews anyone?

I have tentatively decided to go with Dunlop Wintersport M2's for the winter season tires on my six week old TT Quattro. I was actually looking to go with an ultra high performance all-season tire, as we only have maybe 12-15 really snowy days out of 120 a season here in southeast Michigan. However there seems to be no real consensus choice, some local tire people even turned me away from my previous thoughts about getting Michelin Pilot XGT-Z4's.
And so, by default, I think I will go with the M2's. I know the M2's will be fine in the snow, but, more importantly, how much am I going to lose in dry/wet road performance? I would appreciate any reviews by those who have used the tire. Thanks.

These Dunlops are Porsche's choice for snows-that should tell you something

For some reviews, go to www.goodyear.de. The Results seem somewhat mixed to me, but the Dunlops often win the tests, Pirellis and Michelins rarely do.
According to the official Porsche magazine Christophorus (last year), Sport M2 are NOT Porsche's winter tire choice if you also do frequent fast expressway driving-they say use 210A's. They are also not Porsche's choice for serious snow-they recommend the Pilot Alpins. The M2 is their choice for all-around winter use.
My 210A's seem to give up nothing in the dry or wet, compared to 8000E's. I can't tell you how they do on snow/ice yet because they haven't encountered it yet.

A4 2.8QS

I just got the Dunlop Winter Sport M2s (205/55HR-16 on my stock wheels) and have about 120 miles of dry driving. On the highway they feel great - only went to 80 - and on country roads they are very good, although a little mushier than the 8000s (I am going to injcrease the air pressure a few lbs) and over tar strips and big bumps they are a little the ride rougher. Also, slight tire noise.

Overall, if they are good in the snow/ice I will be extremely pleased. I won't be in a rush to change back to the 8000s, before the last snowfall.

I think it is amazing that the companies can make snow tires that ride and handle this well.

In above test, M2's did great in 16", lousy in 15"

How do the M2's and 210A's compare in terms of how fast they wear?

Default 210A's give up nothing to 8000E's in dry? I don't think so....

...I'm not sure what your driving patterns are but I can definately tell the difference between my 8000E's and the new 210As. I felt much better response and feedback from the 8000Es, and they are much more stable taking fast sweepers (like on-ramps etc). They also rode firmer than the 210A's. Generally, the 210A's seem "squishy" in comparison to the 8000E's...but of course this is to be expected since they are a winter tire and the 8000E is a summer tire. The threshold of grip is also obviously lower in the 210A's...again to be expected. In the 210A's defence, they are better than what I expected for a winter tire...
