Cheap Available and might help a heavy a6 4.2 to turn in.

Default Cheap they are. The XL rating won't guarantee 'turn-in'. For this you need...

a reinforced sidewall tire construction. Don't know what to tell you at this point. Several here have used the 615's on the street with success as long as the surface is dry.
There are many good to great tires available for your application, price being commensurate with their capability, but not a given. Toyo makes a superb tire for the price/reputation as does Falken's other choices. I'd be suspect about the 615 which primarily is manufactured for dual street/track applications and has a low treadwear rating. You want to spring an additional $25-$50/tire you're looking at a much larger selection better suited for the street performance. Good luck.

Default 2nd. I really like my 615s but wouldn't have 'em if just for DD. if you are

desperate for bettar turn-in, have you tried dialing out some of your front toe-in?

Default I did RT-615 as daily drivers and loved them.

They are fairly good for wear as well as in the wet (on a heavy S4 anyway). I got two summers out of them including maybe 12 autocrosses.

I'm going to try Dunlop Sport Z1's this year but I did like the Falken's especially for the money.

Default noise no, but you'll have to repaint the bottom edges of your car, those tires pick up every...

little bit of gravel and whatever else is on the road and throw it up at your paint.

personally, I wouldn't.
