Default I'm curious how these tires compare:

I have BFGoodrich Comp T/A VR4's, 215/50VR16 on my car.
I just ordered for my mom ('94 Subaru Legacy GT Wagon) Dunlop SP Sport A2's, 195/65HR14.

The Dunlops are rated higher than my tires by users. This makes me feel inferior to my mom's cheesy subaru wagon ;-) How do they compare in real world?

Btw, I'm thinking about getting Sumitomo HTRZ II's for Summer, along with a set of 17's. Should I go for the Sumitomo's, or spend way more and get Pirelli Sport 9000's (ZR).

Cheers,
Mike.

Default never heard of Pirelli 9000... what country are you in? ...more...

If you're going to spend a lot, go for Bridgestone S-03 or Toyo T-1S.

Default sorry... I meant Dunlop SP Sport 9000. Heh. Don't know where Pirelli came from.

Don't have the money for S-03's or anything super crazy.

Default assuming 215/45/17 is the proper size for you, then...

S-03 is only a couple of bucks more than SP9000 at Tire Rack. S-03s are very competitively priced nowadays.

SP9000 will give you more comfort, S-03 will give you better performance and wet traction.

Also, I didn't see Sumitomo HTRZ-II in that size. Are you considering another size?

Default ummm... i think I found the HTRZ II's in 215/40/17

I'm screwing with the idea of new tires; don't really need them, but I might save up for some. Just seeing what people thought of which tires.

Basically I'm bored at work :-P

Default hehe....

search the archives - lots of feedback on those Sumitomos and Kumhos.

I've got no personal experience with them. All I know is I love the amazing wet traction of my S-03s, and they are much better in that respect than my stock Pirelli P6000. Dry traction is about the same.

With the prices of S-03s coming down so much, I might buy them again. Alternatively, I'll give Toyo T-1S a try (very light).
