Default Keep the Pirellis, or spend another $250 for the DWS06? UPDATE

Long and short, I warrantied a set of Pirelli Scorpion Verde A/S Plus today after several months of Discount Tire not being able to balance them correctly. They had 10,000 miles on them (almost exactly) when I finally pulled them off today. Probably 7 visits to 6 different stores to try to get them zeroed wasn't working. I should maybe mention that they were balanced early on, but then a store "re"-balanced them during a rotation and now nobody can get them back.

Anyway, the store is giving a $500 credit and is trying to talk me into the DWS06, but for about 50% more than another set of Pirellis (I'm paying the difference on 18 vs 20 since I'm taking the opportunity to jump to larger wheels).

Got them mounted today and there's still a noticeable shake though better than the 18s were. Part of me thinks DT can't balance a tire to save their collective lives and to keep them but go elsewhere for a balance, and the other part of me says just spend the extra $ (and take the reduced mileage warranty - I drive about 30k miles/year) and have them mount the DWS06 so I'll know for sure. Either they work great - and are arguably a better tire - or I know to go elsewhere for service since either DT can't balance or something is wrong with my car.

What say the hive?

UPDATE: Finally got a chance to get on some smooth freeway and get up to speed, between 80-90 to feel them out. They are shaking like hell, mostly in the rear. So I called the DT where I'm doing the work and spoke with the manager. He's not happy with me since he tried to talk me into the DWS06 to begin, but agreed to order them in and swap them and eat the second set. I feel a little bad about it but I'm not going to deal with this for two more years. I'll order lunch for them all as a peace offering, and I won't be getting Pirelli tires ever again.

DT pulled them off and swapped in the DWS06 for the cost difference. I think it actually ended up being cheaper than had I bought them to begin with. I won't argue.

They were all poorly balanced (seems to be a DT MO) so I found a local performance wheel shop who did a nice job on them, but one is still way heavy. I've considered warrantying it but I'm tired of dealing with it. It'll be worn off by this time next year anyway.
