Default replacing Conti Contact Pro with Continentials

Appologies if these questions are already covered. I haven't purchased tires in a long time.

1) 245-45-17 on '06 A6, anyone know the difference between Conti Contact Pro & Conti Contact Pro Audi. Is there a way to tell which tire is on the car now? There is a ~$20 price difference.

Other considerations (both Asym I believe)
2) ExtremeContact DWS or 2) PureContact with EcoPlus Technology.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

DK, it's typically the construction of the tire. You may or may not notice any difference. You could always check in with Gary at Tire Rack...he'd likely give some input on that.

Several of us run conti DWS on our cars - this is a all season tire vs performance/summer. Offers quiet longer wear and some snow capability

Thanks and for those who use DWS, did you get a 5th for as a spare? If its mounted on the rim in/outside correctly, can it (the spare) be used on either side of the car?

Right after the tire size, does the tire show 99V or 99H?

I would also recommend the Extreme Contact DWS as a top all season tire with notably good snow traction.

As long as the tire is mounted correctly, it can be used for either side of the car.

I checked and the current tire is H rated.

I don't have a 5th wheel or tire as a spare on the Q5 (and obviously can't for the RS4 as that is where the battery is)

If I understand things correctly, the H tire has a 60K tread warranty while the V (~$20 cheaper) has a 40K warranty. Sorry if this is a dumb quesiton, but can anyone clarify if this less lasting tread on the V is due to driving habits of a higher speed rating typical car or is it due to actual tire construction. I'm not a fast driver and wouldn't mind saving a few bucks so wonder if I will get the same lifetime from both.

I have dedicated snows, so decided to not get DWS. My choice is boiling down to the H or V rated Contact Pro, or ExtremeContact DW. I am guessing the Contact Pro will be a slightly more comfortable ride, gas mileage, any other thoughts or suggestions? I mostly do highway driving.
Thanks!
