There's basically a tire for every car and situation. First thing is to decide what category of tires fits your driving the best. There are touring tires which are great for comfortable long distance driving. There are all-season tires like the suggested DWS 06, which can be driven all year around as long as you don't get lots of snow, then there are different levels of high performance summer tires all the way up to streetable track tires. Those are no good in the winter, so there is a slew of winter tires all the way to studded for ice driving. On the other side are the sizes. The taller the sidewall, the more comfortable the ride is the more protection the wheel has if you hit a pothole, but on the other hand a taller sidewall makes the tire less responsive going into a turn as there is more flex the more rubber you have. So, the benefit of larger wheels is that it lowers the sidewall and makes the tire more responsive when turning in, but also makes it less comfortable and there is less rubber to protect the wheel when you hit something.

Long story short, you need to match the tire to the kind of driving you do and how much you value comfort vs performance. It does sound like the DWS 06 would be a great choice for you.
