Winter tire pressure for 225/45/17 HTR+???
#2
Great Question...
and one I've thought about as well.
My audi manual says nothing about different pressure for winter tires. My saab manual does refer to winter tires and recommends the same pressure as it does for the summer tire of the same size.
So I'm assuming that it's size that matters, not whether the tire is winter/summer.
Any other opinions?

Tire pressure is independent of season.
Tire pressures are recommended by the manufacturer of the vehicle, and are independent of both the season and even the tire! They are a function of the weight of the vehicle.
Tire design is obviously going to have a huge factor in how your car drives, with a winter rubber compound much more pliant at cold temperatures (summer tires will become like rock in freezing temperatures).
Over or under-inflating your tires will only lead to tread-wear problems, and shorten the life of the tire (and possibly put you at risk for poor handling and performance).

AudiWorld Expert
and my Audi manual says...
that when running winter tires, you should add 3 extra PSI to the standard PSI listed on the fuel filler door sticker.
However, in case of the original poster, HTR+ is not a dedicated winter tires, so I don't think this rule applies, regardless whether he drives on them in summer or winter.
