ESP warning lights on, but already install new Brake Light Switch ?

Ok, went to dealer and pick up Brake Light Switch, it looks like this, but its different from the original one, Just want to make sure do I need to press the brake paddle to set it up or just remove the old one and put the new one in without do anything to adjust the brake paddle ?
