Default 96 Audi cab for a rally

Bout ye,

I purchased 96 Audi cab for a charity rally £400.

Serviced her etc but I need the roof down and it won't budge. It has no manual so I'm not sure even how to put it down correctly. It has small window or roof switch beside handbrake which doesn't do anything and the handle on the roof which will turn half way but not release it. The back drivers window is stuck up but the rest all work. There is no noise when pressing the switch. Can anyone tell me how to do it manually I tried from something I saw online but it did not work.

Or does anyone have a systematic flow diagram on what to check to get it working or if possible a method of stripping the electrics etc out and making it manual?

Cheers

Mat

I do not have this.

I do have this, does this mean that it is manual already?

Mega!! The window is very inflexible due to age and sun light. Put a wee crease in her.

I have two loose cables under the bonnet. I believe one is for cold start and one is for the idler. Any reason why someone would have detached these? Should I reattach or leave well alone?

Grillage,
Is that your famous auto trans to manual trans conversion? By the way, the '95 Cab, or at least the early production ones, do not have the key switch to unlock the top. Belmat, these documents will give you an overview of the top system. Good luck.

Default Running rich

Hi,

Problem,

the car is running very rich and has excessive fumes it failed it's emissions test during the mot but passed on retest prior to me purchasing it.

As in photos above the blue and white cable had been unplugged. I reinserted them.

Is this a problem with the airflow box, o2 sensor etc?

any help would be greatly appreciated
