i live in the Mid-west and my local dealer is asking for $44,250 for a new 2015 Q5 (~150 miles) : This is 9% off the MSRP.

2.0T, Premium Plus, Tech package, Mythos Black exterior, Guard Protection kit ($307), Wheel lock kit ($98) and First-aid kit (41) (the last 3 options come with the car though is not my choice and don't need it)

How much lower can I negotiate on this?

Would I be better off (economically) shopping for a 2016 model (same specs) insstead?

Is the Guard Protection something that was dealer applied? If so, you can try to get it at no cost. They are BIG profit makers for them.

The Audi Guard protection kit includes the all-weather floor mats and cargo mat. It's a $330 option on the 2016's - I don't know what the cost was on the 2015's.

How many dealers to you have around? 9% seems like there's more room, given it's well past the model year. But if you're hours from another dealer, you may not have better luck on a 2016.

the saleslady only offer me 3% discount off on the price,
she said the dealer only have 8% margin...
(after i read your message, how can i trust her words anymore?)

If she call me back, i will ask her even more discount.
