I got to play ring around the car for a couple attempts to get the car door open and to stay open while I ran to the other side of the car.
I took the door card off and took as good of a look at the mechanism while it was still light out. (about 20 minutes)
the linkages still seem intact and operate fine. I think the lock mechanism is shot. Soo much fun.

This happened to me twice... in one day! I was parked next to a truck so the sun would melt ice snow at the top but the shadow fell of the red so it would freeze in the cracks! First time it has happened with this car and it happened twice in one day.
Whatever happened to those super tight German tolerances we have all heard about?

mine was "frozen" on the interior of the door. All the linkages worked fine, and I could see them moving. Just some part was stuck in the door latch/lock mechanism. Only from the exterior door handel.
