Materials Needed
- Jack
- Jack stands (two to four)
Step 1 – Jack up your car
Locate the arrows on the bottom of your Audi that indicates your lift points. There should be four total; one is in front of your rear tires, on each side, and the other is behind your front tires, again, on both sides. Pump the jack high enough to fit the jack stands under the car. Audi, like many European manufacturers, requires a jack pad or adapter for the side jack points. See the end of the article for more information.
Step 2 – Secure with jack stands
Once the car is high enough, place your jack stands to secure it. You can lift one side, then place your jack stand there; then, lift the other side and place the second jack stand there. On the front, the jack stands can go on the A-arm. On the rear, the jack stands can go on the ball mounted on the frame, right next to the jack itself. When you place the jack stand, lower the jack very slowly until the car sits on it.
Step 3 – Lower the car
To lower the car, slowly raise it again with your jack until it's off the jack stand, then remove the jack stand. Repeat the process for the other side, then lower it completely on the ground.
