I was wondering will a MAF sensor from a 2002 A6 work on a 93 90. The part # is 06C 133 471A

Will this work to do the stage 3 MAF you sell. If I sent this to you would you be able to do the S3 upgrade on it?

I'm just asking cause I have access to one nearby from a wrecked car. Just wondering if its worth it, will I see any gains with a S3 done on this maf?

Any help would be great. Thanks

The S3 MAF is also an aluminum MAF vs the plastic one found on 99 & later Audis. Even the housing can't be milled to S3 specs as there's not enough wall thickness.

Well, we know how to convert the 4 wire to 3 wire. Lets us use Mance's S3 MAF on a 93 90

unless you can write hard code in the ECU. And if you could do that we'd all be running your chipped Hitachi ECU.

Now since he's read this and I've told him it wont work while you maintain it will I'll leave it with you two to sort out where he should send that 2002 MAF to have you work your magic.

You need to make the 4 wire to 3 wire mod first, but after that it will work fine. Or, make the mod and use one of the unmodified 3(edited to fix typo) wire MAFs. Won't flow as much as Mance's but will flow tons better than your current MAF. BTDT.

The whole idea was to get my hands on a MAF that I could do the S3 too.

12V cars. At that point you need to have the guys who have done the 4-to-3 wire conversion help you with the process of getting that sorted out. During that time you can send me your 96/97 MAF housing for conversion to S3 specs.
