O2 sensor related DTC's
Hi everybody,
I'm new to forum ,yet been driving Audi's already for 4th Year.I sold lately my 99'A6 2,5 TDI Q with tiptronic and opted for 2004 2.7T Allroad with 6-speed manual. To say the least, diesel is OK,but I deffinitely prefer my new ride.
After two weeks of driving this fabulous enigne
only two things bug me.Mainly,RPM is 680-700(so VAG-COM tells me)and I can feel it.After driving a diesel my hearing is on the high edge)
The second thing is a couple of DTC's which keep on coming back eventhough cleared.
here they are:
2 Faults Found:
16538 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B2 S1: No Activity
P0154 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17539 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor; B2 S1: Internal Resistance too High
P1131 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
Readiness: 0000 0001
I'm going to a friend's indy shop to check connection and condition of B2 S1.Please advise on any additional check that should be performed
Thanks and sorry for the lengthy post.

welcome.
these engines won't ever have a perfect idle, so you have two options: ignore it, or use lemmiwinks or some other tuning tool to up the idle a little. should be okay if it's a little higher.
also, probably good to just replace both primary O2 sensors and get it over with - that one is dead

Re: O2 sensor related DTC's
No ck engine light? Soft fault for B2 S1 means (front driver's side O2 sensor) is wearing out. If readiness code is set before DEQ, it will pass. Recommend monitor signal on road test with scan tool (MVB #35, I think), watch for signal drop-out. Also ck for tech bulletins regarding update ECU program, related to catalyst or O2S DTC's. Usually fixed by replacing B2S1, set readiness code. Sensor is pretty difficult to access--more so on an automatic.

Re:No ck engine light?
Check engine lit up yesterday. Is this a very bad sign? I already have ordered the sensor,it will arrive here next Friday.I hope no further damage will be done if I keep on driving the car!!!As for readiness all is passed except for O2 sensors heating and cat converter(s),are these related? Please excuse me if I'm making no sense ,I'm more informed o diesel engines than gasoline fed ones so.....

Re: depends
Well, either it is bad luck or some gremiln is residing in my car.Check engine light turned itself off in the day after.I anyway preceeded and changed driver's side pre-cat(plese tell me I changed the right one)the car was driven for a couple of days with no DTC's.
This morning I had to disconnect my battery to change a dead ballast on one of my HID's,so to check if every thong is ok VAG-ed the and once again the no activity DTC is there!!!!
