car overheats,had new radiator,auxfan and fan clutch.next move replace to replace cylinder head gasket.how is the timing set and what is the correct cylinder head torque?
Audi A6 year 2000.
any tips for my problem?

timing is set with timing/cam lock bar.

every time i start the car in the am,i noticed
that once you step on the brake pedal,and you put the gear forward or reverse,i feel i brake
won't stop the car (hard brakes)i even let the car idle for at least 3 mins.

is the timing/cam lock bar on the sprocket?is there any alignment procedure?by chance you have a diagram that you can spare?

don't go by timing marks. use the cam lock bar.

check your brake booster hose for a leak/tear.
