2004 3.0 Random misfire cylinders 4,5,and 6
Hi all,
I have been a lurker here for awhile, and alot of things that have come up ive been able to fix/figure out with the help you guys give on here. I hope you guys can help me figure this out. I have a 2004 a4 avant with the 3.0. It has 155,000 miles. Recently it has been throwing a CEL and it shows that I'm getting random misfires in cylinders 4,5 and 6. The timing belt was done about 5,000 miles ago, and it runs like a top. New coils and plugs have been installed. Only at about 55 mph/1800-1900 rpms the CEL will flash. Now if I give it some gas the and get the car over 60 everything is fine, and I did a test where if I keep it down below 55 mph it doesn't throw codes. I am getting p0300, p0304, p0305 and p0306. I took it to a shop to have the transmission fluid switched out and mentioned the issue. He could not get it to misfire at all with the vag-com. I do not get any hesitation/misfire "feelings" (rough running, shaking) like I normally would when that happens. I was wondering what you guys thought about it? I don't have vag-com for myself, only running the torque app to check codes. The cams do not look warn down or have any real wear to indicate cam issues, No sludge build-up. The car was extremely taken care of and it is driving my nuts! Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I just bought an A4 2005 sedan. It is beautiful on the inside and out, but whoever had it let it just rot. I have spent over $4,000 replacing everything!! I just put in a new starter and it acts like it doesn't want to crank at random times. The battery and alternator check out. I am soooooo frustrated!! I feel your pain!!!
