Default 2003 A4 Oustside Air Temp. Display is reading wrong?

Has anyone else experienced this. The OAT display on the trip computer display area is reading from -17F to 34F when it's 60F out. Does is affect the performance of the internal climate control system. The vehicle only has about 500 miles on it. Thanks in advance for the help..

Default The CC has its own ambient air temp sensors to tell temp..

It wont affect anything, just tell you the wrong temp.

That sensor goes through alot being in the front of the car through a winter season, if its a big deal, you can replace it fairly cheap. If its not, dont even bother.

It seems that the a/c doesn't work when the oat display reads below 34F, which is just about all the time? Any ideas?

Default ohh, forgot all about the A/C..

I guess it does affect the CC. Even though its cold out and the AC button doesnt kick it on, it should still kick on for the defroster.

Default Not entirely true. The CC uses the OAT for logic that controls certain funcitons like

turning the fans on after the car is off to dry out the ducts (it won't do this if it thinks it's cold out). Also it is used when determining how much to cycle the A/C clutch. As stated before it won't come on when the OAT is less than 34F, so if it's 60F out and you get warm then that's why. Thus, under normal operation if you run in full AUTO mode you may get warmer outlet temps because the A/C is not cycling on. You definitely need to get this fixed to allow the CC to work correctly.
