97 keypad remote programing. Is this the correct procedure?
It is not working for me.
1) put one key in the ignition, and turn it to the on position, but don't start it;
2) get out of the car, close all the doors, and put another key in the driver's side door;
3) turn the key clockwise to lock the key and hold it there;
4) push both buttons on the key fob simultaneously until the lights flash. Done.
I droped my keypad and it opened up and spilled the batteries.Does the positive terminal face the circuit board?

Re: Yep, now tell me how to reprogram the remote.
Here's the FAQ for reprogramming the '97 remote. The same thing happened to me - I dropped it, broke open and spilled the battery. Never worked again after that. I was still under warranty, so the dealer replaced both remotes.
Good luck.
