Default AAAAAH! Windshield wash fluid leaking out! This is THEE WORST time for it!!!

I thought something was sorta wierd yesterday when I filled up the resivoir with two gallons of fluid and it had room for more. Of course, the sound of dripping water under the car gave it away. There's a leak coming from the secondary resivoir and I can't see exactly where the leak is. I wonder if maybe the hose connection came loose or something. Of course, I don't have the means to get under the car and find out.

Does anyone in Chicagoland area have a lift or ramps that can help me get under the car so I can check it out? (Scott D.. you there??)

Had that happen to my '97 A4. During a service they knocked a hose off.

Default That's what I'm hoping is maybe a hose popped off. It's too hard to tell though...

the engine bay is so tight I can't get my hand under there to feel for loose hoses.

that happende to me on my 1998.5. remove the plastic grill from the bumper by gently inserting a screwdriver on the innermost edge of the grill. pry it off, and you will gain access to the source of your problem. the hose fitting gets loose over time. push it back into place.

Default probably the same thing a lot of us had...faulty pump from the factory (more)

I was on vacation in June and I used the windshield washers (probably only the second time since I bought the car), and seconds later the low washer fluid light came on...IMPOSSIBLE! I went to the nearest gas station and bought a big bottle of Evian...nothing but the best for my baby (actually they didn't have an air/water hose). Dumped it in, and came right out under the car. ****. The pump had failed, and later I found out LOTS of people on AW went through the same thing. You'll be lucky if your dealer stocks the part. Good luck. When mine failed the car only had 4000 miles on it.

Check the front side (closest to headlight) of the main resivoir, that's where mine popped off.

Seems I got lucky. I almost made it to 22,000 mile service before mine died.
