I believe a decent 5w-30 like Pennzoil Platinum's a good bit thinner about 0f.Put a 5w-40 in freezer
it's like maple syrup. I was kind of surprised.
All 5ws are not the same. All are tested at-25f, but higher visc grades allow thicker visc limits at that temp. That is 5w-30 is thinner than 5w-40. 0w-40 vs 5w-30, my money is on 5w-30 to be thinner and a good choice in some climates, even ours if wear stays low, and I think it will.
