Default Cylinder 2 misfire problems

So My 1.8t that my wife drives started to idle really hard today and was throwing a blinking CEL. I tossed on the VAG and it was saying I had a cylinder 2 misfire. I instantly pulled the plugs to check them, swapped plugs, swapped coil packs to try to narrow them down. This didn' change anything. It is always throwing a cylinder 2 misfire. I then though it could be the fuel injectors (which it very well still could be). I pulled the fuel rail and the injectors and #2 definitely had some gunk on the end of it. I cleaned it up but put it back into the same spot because I jacked my shoulder and just wanted it to be back together at that point. Anyway, long story short it still is throwing a cylinder 2 misfire every time. Since this injector was gummed up is it probable that it is the injector that is causing the issues, or what else can I look for?

Thanks much in advanced.
