Very very nice ,but I was looking at your mods also.Have you got any idea of your horsepower/performance gain with both ECU and Tip Chip?I was looking at those with a velocity stack and either Stebro exhaust or Eisenmann when I get past my warranty period.

Default I am not sure about the hp supposedly 10-12 wit the ECU but I definitely feel the diff

got both put in at once so it was a huge improvement. the shifting is so much faster with the tip its instantaneous and the dead spot around 2100rpm is gone which is great. I have a warranty also but I just put the stock ecu back in when i bring her in. i want to get that stage 3 maf and velocity stack also for more hp.

Default No exhaust yet?

I've seen one post by a guy from CA who said he dyno'd at about 240 after his mods on a 2.8 .Can't remember which site .He had exhaust, chip and CAI .I though that sounded to high to be true.I figured 225-230 at most from what most people have posted.Am I correct that his #'s could have been BS.

Default Yea definitely sounds like bs i want to wait for my warranty to expire for exhaust so i can go custm

get a high flow cat or test pipe or something that will be significant you know. i think the 225 might be true but probably too high also with just those mods, that stage 3 maf should give you like 15hp from the claims so that will help alot

Default I want to wait til more warranty has run out .

I only have 53k miles and my warranty is FORD Easycare.I bought it at my work w/the car.I have until 72k miles and 2,1/2 yrs left. The only things wrong is cruise switch has died and there is a film on the rear diff but no drips.I have $100 deductible and our warr. clerk can get all my work done at the Audi dealer not our Chevy store.I'm going to wait until at least next year to start any detectible mods.Hoping for 220-230 hp when done.

the numbers you want with a couple mods. u have a tip or manual? is the warranty going to fix those two problems or that isnt covered?

Default Both problems are covered ....but..

I've been waiting to see if anything else comes up so I can get it all done for the same $100.I have 1998 2.8QTS.I'm considering UR power pulleys.I've seen they give 5 hp for the entire rpm range.Have you known anyone to have crank problems from these? Summit racing is near me and I'm cosidering calling my old friend who works there for truthful advice. They sell them so they may know.

Default No i'm not sure but check the archives or ask i'm sure someone has installed em on their 2.8 you kno

also if you want the chip now you can always just swap the stock socket back in when you bring it to the dealer, its real easy and like i said i do it, some dealers dont even care too. if you call your buddy let me know what he says about it, i would like to know also

Default I'll let you know what he says...

also did you see the free Carfax posting above.I had never ran mine at work.It let me know even all the time the 1st owner got the oil change at only 2k to 3k intervals.SCHWEEEET..All the bad stuff I already knew was fixed before I bought my car.I knew where it was serviced and got the manager to fax me service records before I bought it.The arms and tie rods were done at mid 40's and the steering rack also while they hunted for the noise.I should have little to do for yrs.
