Default ECU or Speed Sensor?

Driving along in my 1999 A4 2.8. All of a sudden with no warning my Audi dies. Now it will turn over but won't start. It is getting spark and it is getting fuel. My question is, could it be the ECU or the Speed sensor? If the ECU was fried then would it still get spark and fuel? Thanks.

Default How/what would the speed sensor have anything to do with this?

When you turn on the car, do you get the check engine light?

No Check engine light. Battery is fine, car has fuel, its getting a spark and its getting fuel. It tuns over but won't start. I was told by a few people on here that it could be the speed sensor.

That's not even close. Your ECU is shot if the CEL doesn't come on.

So, even if the ECU is shot then the car will still get fuel and a spark?

Default *THAT* is NOT a speed sensor issue. I mentioned that before you stated you had spark/fuel.

You will get NO spark with a bad engine speed sensor.

Your timing may be way way off? Timing belt done last? It may have slipped or broken = bad.

Very very hard to diag over the web.............

You need to Vag-Com it and get the codes if any... could be 10-40+ things. If no codes prob. ecu.
