errors!
got a CEL light the other day, a non flickering one, and it goes out now.. also the traction control and ABS light up like they're out of service on the dash after turning the car on for more than 2 or 3 minutes and by the time they do this i can either tell they're lieing to me about being out of service, or they're immediately deadening the gas pedal in steps real fast but not quite as fast as when the ABS goes off, which I haven't made it do since the error lights.
what do you think? turn my keys in and get a new car?

But really, if you don't have a VAG take it to a shop that specializes in Audi/VW and have them diagnoze it.
It could be as simple as a loose wire or a dead sensor of some sort, perhaps the ABS...
Your solution is rather abrupt, unless you want to have an excuse to get a new car !

Your description is rather vague...
but from the sounds of it, it may be the ABS controller failing. Some folks are experimenting with places that will rebuilt these control units for about $250 (new part is $1200), so that's one option. You can search for symptoms of an ABS controller failure. Be careful where you send it for repair. There have been 1 or 2 places that haven't been successful in rebuilding these, but at least 1 that has rebuilt a few with success (modulemasters comes to mind...though I could be wrong). Like I said, use the search facility to search this forum and the B5 S4 forum for more info on the problem and solution. Or just sell the car.

thanks, looking into the latter right now. the dealership needs it for insuranced repairs soon so
they will know of every single problem i have encountered since the accident, hopefully it's something simple. Was going to unplug and replug the MAF sensor because i've heard that being unplugged will trigger an ABS light? correct me if i'm wrong. Anyway, I don't own a vag-com nor can i borrow one within 170 miles of where i live so that option is out.
