Default Here's another epiphany on the Bose stereo....

I also noticed that my old Bose in the 2001 was very boomy. The highs were also lacking but overall the stereo was good.
The one in the new car has had something changed. Bass is almost perfect. A few more highs. Is this because of better speakers or did they make a new head unit or is it that I just got lucky.? Sounds better than nearly any stock stereo I've heard. Nakamechi in a Lexus takes top honors. And here's another shot of the new car.... : )

Good report! One of my biggest complaints about the Bose stereo is the annoyingly boomy bass.

What is the finish on the wheels? They look more specular than the car's paint.

I also have the Bose in my 2001.5 and it sounds GREAT. I could not understand the complaints listed here on the Bose after I got mine, it is VERY loud and boomy to me. I decided to do some checking and here is the ONLY thing I could come up with. The specs on the Audi USA site list the Bose system at 150 watts. The manual that came with my Bose Radio lists it at 210 Watts. Maybe they added a better amp for 2001.5? And I can't let you post the only pic so here is mine.

Default Looking sharp, I dig those wheels. I think you got lucky....(more)

with your stock Bose system. Most people report the enhanced bass with the Bose.

The Lexus/Nakamechi system is pretty good, but the Alpine system in a Lambroghini ain't bad either!!! :=)

Default someone in the S4 forum reported a way to access a built in Equaliser in the Bose systems....

the search is kinda screwy. Otherwise, I'd find the post that refers to this little secret equalizer. Does anyone remember the post I'm referring to?
