Default How can I fix the rear L plate mounting holes? (more)

MY '01 Avant had metal panel clips that the L plate screws went into. When the car was sold to the dealer that I bought it from they detroyed the square holes that the clips went into when they removed the L plate since the screw had rusted to them. I'm left with 3 of the 4 square holes enlarged and rounded. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there a different plastic clip that will work in a round hole? I've tried the new plastic ones that come on the current models but the rounded holes are too big for them to grab anything.

Default I have the same problem.

I was thinking about using a small plastic molly, like the ones you use to anchor a screw into sheetrock. If you try this, let me know how it turns out.

Default I'm off to Lowes tonight to see what I can come up with...

I will definately let you know if I find something that works. I have used well nuts before in similar situations however I don't think we have the depth we need. I want to say they're about 3/4" long
