Thanks for the advice and for the eBay source for buying new moldings. I ordered a new Right Front Lower Side Door Molding for my 2001 A4 last weekend. It arrived yesterday and I installed it today--very simple, and looks great.

thread resurrection... does anyone have an updated place to buy theses moldings? Mine drivers door one is curling off. Do I need to replace IT or can I just take off and re"anchor" it somehow? Looks like trash with curling off and sticking off the side of the car.

Here's where I bought moldings about a year ago--looks like they still have them:

DOH... I thought this was for an A6. Looks like they have them for the A4, but not an A6.

Thanks anyway though.

I need the same lower door moldings (rub strips) but for a 1988 AUDI 80 Quattro. Any ideas?

Over time I bought all four mouldings from http://www.audipartssuperstore.com, they do not list cars prior to 1990 on their site, but they are an actual dealer so try calling them. I have bought a few things from them, even with shipping they are cheaper than my local dealer.

Thank you, I will give them a call. I have owned quite a few VW/AUDIs over the years, and continue to marvel how well they are engineered. Rust protection and quality of plastics even on our current project car, an '88 80Q, is impressive. The 80Q is about as close as we could get to the Ur-AUDI, the Ro80, way ahead of its time.
