Default I replaced my friends engine speed sensor on a 2000 1.8 the other day after it left him stranded.

He was on the way to my house and couldn't make it so I wound up doing in the parking lot of a restuarant.

He's just about 100k now. I'm an A8 guy and never heard of one of these going on the 8's. Once I did a search here it seems like a real common problem.

Timing belt/WP aside (done), are there any other sensors/issues that would leave him stranded? He had an issue with a coilpack a couple of months ago so I changed all 4 for him. Anything else you guys are changing proactively?

thanks,
Bob
