Default Matt, how did you verify that the in dash CD will not make it to NA (more)

In your report about the 99.5 changes you are saying that you verified during the trip to Germany
that the in dash CD will not make it to North America, however in another section you mentioned
that it is unknown if the new console will make it either. If you did see NA models off the assebly line without the in dash CD you couldn't tell if they had the new cosole or not? Just curious.

All the 99's coming off the assembly line did have the new console. Every North American car we looked at though had the standard Concert or Bose radios that we have today. North American cars also have two extra cup holders, with the euro spec cars not having the under arm rest holders.
NeilM

BTW: console and outside mirror already changed in 'progenator' 99.

Default Re: Confusion: New console "face", old console radio?

I really like the new look of the instrument cluster for the radio controls. It looks like some sort of aluminum/metallic type finish, and the buttons look different too. I would be more bummed if I found out that this was not going to be a part of the "freshening" of the A4 than the inclusion of the in-dash CD. I can live with the CD changer in the trunk, but that new panel looks dazzling. Can anyone (matt, et. al.) clarify?
Thanks -
Kevin
99.5 (I mean 99+) A4 1.8TQMS

This is really confusing. I just talked to the
local Audi dealer here in Ottawa and he told me that Audi Canada told them in their meeting in Toronto that the new radio with the in dash CD will be istandard in all 99.5's. Nothing in writing yet
though. He even told me that they are not sure if
the Bose system will be available as an option
anymore. Are the Canadian models different than
the US or Audi Canada is really confused?
