My Driver window fell into door??

96 A4 2.8Q Motor still grunts. Took off door panel & the green clip toward the front of the door is broke. Called a window shop & they said that I would have to replace the entire "regulator". Any thoughts?

window regulators break fairly often

especially in VWs... And if your window fell in the door, and the motor is messed up, you will need to replace it.

Motor is fine. need to know if I can replace regulator

Regulator costs about $120, from the dealer.
