Default New 2001 1.8t, tip, fwd, sport suspension

Just bought a beautiful blue 1.8t for my wife. It is front wheel drive (live in So. Cal so please no flames). I love this car (except for the slight turbo lag at take off...yes I drive a '98 2.8 tip). My question is my wife loves the car but she's concerned with the handling. More specific, the alignment of the car at freeway speeds. Since I just drove the car, with only 300 hundred miles on it, I concluded the car handled beautifully, however she did float a little at freeway speeds (the car, not my wife). Since my 2.8 tip has the same Dunlop sp8000 tires (no sports suspension) I have to believe that the new tires are at fault for this temporary problem. Could it or will it be that once the tires are "broken in" the car will be better than it is even now (which is pretty damn good)

Cheers,
John

Default hhmmm it might be the tires. since they are new and only have ~300 miles on them

drive it a little more and the rubber should get better. The day i got my 2.8, i felt it was planted to the ground but i also gave the tires a few hundred miles to i guess "wear" in.

Default

wait until 1000 miles to let the tires "set in" and warm up to the car
