NFG on the block... need help...
So I got this 2000 A4 at the auction but it came with no key.
There is damage to the front left side of the car, but its doable.
My problem is that the car was left open and it rain, now i have to remove it to have it clean. The water has been there for about a month so I need to do something out it, but to remove it I need to take out the seats and center consul. But with out a key and a dead battery I can move the seats back or the shifter down...
Please help.

Welcome on wow! Hope you payed next to nothing for the car. You will have to go to the dealer with your title and get a new key made. Not sure if the 2000 A4's had immobilizers, but if they did then the dealer will need the car as well with a good battery. That is the easy part though.
Moisture sitting inside one of these cars for that long can reek havoc with the multiply electronic systems including the tranny computer which is under the carpet. I'd get a key made and a new battery and see what works before proceeding any further. Cross fingers and hope for the best.

Well, I paid under $1000 for it.
The Water was only on the driver side.
And I really don't want to part it out, so.
I got the title on Sat. so to the dealership for a $150 key.

or you can remove the ign switch from the column, test all your electronics then decide if you want to buy the key, usually i just go to the salvage yard and pick up a new ign switch with key for $25-30. it is very easy to recode a new key to your door locks but it does take some time so for you the dealer key may be best. but to remove the ign switch you just remove the plastic around the column, use a dremel to cut a slot in the 2 tamper proof screws and unscrew. takes about 15 minutes generaly.
then the electrical part of the switch is held in place by 2 tiny screws loosen and slide the switch out, now you can use a screw driver to turn the switch instead of a key, move your seats and test all electronics, if everything works then order a key.

I was able to get a 2003 VW ATQ engine out of a Passat that was in another accident. My A4 has an ATQ V6 30V, so I assume it its the same.
But when I went through AllData I found out that the compression is not the same
Is this going to give me lots of problems or will it be and easy swap???
