OBDII codes came up... need assistance please....
Info: 1998 A4 1.8T.
History: stumbly start a couple times, check-eng came on a few times, then stayed on, and today the car refused to start for a while, but did eventually.
Codes: P0118 -- Eng coolant temp sensor ckt high input.
Pending code: P0332 -- Knock Sensor 2 ckt low input (bank 2).
So now what? How can I test these sensors? I ordered the Bentley CD, but in the meanwhile, I have to drive 75 miles away every day, and I'm a bit nervous to do so.
Thanks,
-Neil.

well.
due to your commute, just in case you don't
already, I suggest you check your oil at least
once a month.
next, knock sensor... sounds like bad gas,
try higher octanes whenever possible.
coolant temp sensor... dunno, maybe your temp
sensor needs to be replaced?

incorrect, wasseem. Try this. Bank 2, on a 1.8T???
There's only one bank on a 4 cylinder! Your problem is the engine coolant temp sensor(ECT sensor). it's sending either a high or low signal at start, leading the ECU to believe it's already warmed up, and feeding it fuel respectively. This causes a hard starting/stumbling problem. Replace it, clear faults, set basic settings in group 060, and see what it does. I doubt you'll see the knock sensor fault again...

89 because...
Always used 92, but heard that Audi specified 89 minimum. Since I'm only doing the non-performance 150-mile round-trip lately, I figured I'd scale back for improved gas mileage, and the knock sensor system would keep me safe. Besides, I've been unemployed for a couple months now. :-)
