Question on Timing Belt tensioner
I purchased an updated tensioner to install when I replace my timing belt and water pump. Clearly I was concerned about the premature failures if the old style tensioner. Well, today when doing my snub mount, I looked under my timing belt cover and discovered that my tensioner is already the new model.
Would you guys recommend changing the tensioner too (even though I already have the updated version) whenever I do my timing belt?
Should I now wait til closer to 75K or 90K to do my timing belt?
If I don't need to replace my tensioner, do any of you want to buy the one I just bought? Brand new, still in box.

If I were you....
I would replace it all now anyway. It sounds like you are already in the engine bay doing some things why not just finish the install while your there? Yeah you could drive a while longer but you already bought the tensioner and the whole nine yards might as well finsh what you started. That's what I would do.

I got my stuff from germanautoparts.com
But I think the consensus is that ECStuning.com has the lowest prices.
What serpentine? my 1.8T has the timing belt and three accessory belts. Granted, one of them is much longer than the other two. Is this the one you're talking about?
