JHM is the best I have tried, on any car. It is more than just a short shifter tho, more like a
completely new shifter, and if you also use the linkage AND put in something like the 034 street density tranny mounts it is an order of magnitude better.
I run an RS2 tranny, known for being bulletproof, but it shifts like **** as it comes from the factory. I have been drag racing since I was 15, about 41 years, and I could not get a quick shift from the thing no matter what I did. I am very picky about the mechanical components in the car and a component thats not up to the general level of the car bugs crap out of me. If you will shore up the movement in the drivetrain in general by installing new motor mounts (I like the 034 street density pieces if your car is fairky stiff already), tranny mounts, diff mounts and the Stern power ring you will eliminate the movement in the drivetrain by a huge margin, car will shift better even without a shift modification, but it really sets it up so the JHM shifter pieces can work correctly. Their shifter is not like normal short shifters that just change a component, theirs is called a shifter assembly, includes the ball, rod, shaft, etc. and is absolutely solid. You can take the 2 pieces in your hand and play with them and you will see how much slop it eliminates, the slider eliminates slop as well. Everything fits perfectly and is very well made. This will alone improve the shifting IMO 100%, then the improved linkage takes it the rest of the way. This is probably the BEST aftermarket piece anyone has made for this car. I can now do a full 'bang shift' without fear of grinding a pound of input shaft off. If you combine this with the improved motor/tranny/diff mounts you will have as good a shifting car as I can imagine. Upshifts and downshifts are now butter smooth and as fast as you are (they arent the problem anymore). I have done very considerable upgrades to every part of this car, and I consider the shifter /linkage/ mount package of upgrades to be the best money I have spent. I really feel it transformed the car. and I am not related, an employee, or even know the guy who did it all but he did it right and as I said it was the best money I have spent on the car in total. Shifter/mounts and install can be done in a long afternoon with jack stands and 2 jacks and hand tools. Mounts are definately the harder part of the project, and they are tit. I think you can print the instructions to see what you are getting into.

JHM shifter

Indeed. The JHM with the linkage, and bushing coupled with all the other mounts being.....
up to snuff is nothing short of phenomenal. I just finished up with the trans and clutch job, took her out for some fuel and holy ****e the difference when adding the whole JHM line is more of an improvement in shifting than I could have fathomed. Bang shifting is definitely on now
