Default Squeaky noise?

i got a 96 a4 2.8 AWD and i hear a constant squeaking noise coming from the back. I sprayed the upper control arms with lubricant and they stopped for a day then came back to squeaking? MY friend said it may be the upper control arm bushings? Anyone know how to fix and/or how much it would cost?
Thanks

When my rear springs broke, they rubbed on the shocks and squeaked. The bottom 2 inches of the coil broke and they didn't sit square in the perch anymore. After only 200,00 miles.....

Just went through this with our Avant. About $50 per side for the upper bushings and roughly 2 hrs per side for the r&r and pressing the old ones out and new ones back in.

I beg to differ, my apologies. I did the job in 30 minutes on each side. The old bushings came right out and the new ones went in with a c-clamp fairly easy. This is def'n a DIY job. You need a 17mm for the wheels, and then a 17mm and 19mm (I believe) for the upper bushing. Then a c-clamp. Worked great for me!

And the bushings are only 18.95 a piece or 36.37 for OEM!

I've done this replacement several times and tried the C clamp method with no success. The old bushes were in too tight. Ended up cutting them out and using a shop press to install the new ones. You need to make sure you don't press on the center of the bush as this will expand the rubber and hence the split metal housing and it won't press in to the arm. You need to use a sleeve that presses directly on the outer metal housing of the bush.

This is exactly what happened to mine!
I also have 201k miles on my baby..
Also, what kind of shocks and struts would you suggest as an upgrade if not willing to pay OEM prices?

Thanks!
