Want to trade from an 96' A4 2.8Q
ok, Ive had my car for quite some time now, runs very good and strong, but I just love the feeling of the newer A4s, in particular 99.5 +. I also want a manual and a 1.8T to work on with mods. What would be the sensible way to do this? Dealer? Private? Anyone here??
Thanks!

my opinion-
(1) youll get best price thru private sale/auction - the downside is this takes longer, can be a hassle, and if you sell your car before buying the other then consider the expense of a rental etc..
(2) easiest is to trade it but you'll get less value of it from the dealer- plus side is that you can trade/pickup same day and all the paperwork is in one place
IMO- try and sell it firstprivately - at least you'll know what you can get for car

Some dealers will give you an extra week to sell your car privately -- I had a dealer let me
trade in my car, but said I could keep it for a week and see if I could sell it for more. If I could, I could just pay them what they were going to give me, and if not, I could drop my car off to them at the end of the week for the trade in.
Just a thought.
