Default What battery do you guys recommend?

I'm not looking for anything crazy, just reasonably priced that will last. I read the faq and saw the kinds they named, but no real review, just what ones were direct fit. I'd like one that is a direct fit, and most likely at an autozone.

Thanks again guys.

Default Just pop down to your local AZ, and get what they have that fits....

A battery is a battery.

Default I went through this about 3 months ago, could not find a battery that was the exact...

size unless I went to VW/Audi dealer. I just got the closest fit from AZ and a new bracket for about half the price of the dealer, Sears, etc. I think it was $60 or so for everything.

Default OEM or Optima.

The OEM battery typically lasts 5+ years. I've only changed the battery once in the 10 years I've had mine. I went with an OEM replacement due to a parts discount. The best OEM alternative would be an Optima. Otherwise, a battery is a battery...yet not all will last as long as others.

Default The Delco battery is the exact size ,avail at any GM dealer/Delco parts store and

it even has the plastic cover over the positive terminal ,identicle to the OE battery . The plus is they are about the only thing AC Delco still does right . They've gotten high marks from consumer reports (unlike the Delco side post type batteries) and can be warrantied almost any town/city/state of the US if need be. The Germans/Europeans in general like to standardize some things and I guess thats why this battery is also in the Opels(Cadillac Catera). Most of the ones we sell at work for Cadillacs are 5 to 7 yrs old ,so they have served their purpose .
