onto a flatbed truck that the tranny and or axles are fuxored?
Car was stolen Thursday night. They found it last night/this morning and it appears it was towed off somewhere and left. Seems they didnt want to bother with trying to get it running right to drive it off after stealing it and just left it.
Havent been able to go check it out yet but Im just hoping it is driveable so i can bring it home and check it out in detail.

That is so messed up dude.
Why bother getting a friggin flatbed to steal a car? I guess that explains the skid marks.
Stupid. Sorry to hear it man, hopefully you sort everything out.

eh.....Besides putting flatspots on the tires.......as bad as it sounds.....it dosen't hurt them.
Provided they hooked onto the control arms. Now if they just threw a 15" J-Hook on the axles, then I would be inspecting the cv's. I honestly wouldn't be too worried about the trans.
Believe me......I drive a wrecker/flatbed 6 days per week. It is more common than you think, especially with wrecks on the highway and such. If I go out on a tow, and the customer does not provide keys(people are so effin stupid sometimes) then i will either disconnect the linkage and manually put it into neutral, or literally drag the vehicle on and winch it off. I have never had one complaint or claim about a smoked tranny because of this. Of course the customer must sign a waiver, just in case.

reminds me of a repo gone bad story... idiot repo guy repos the wrong car...
auto trans... breaks bunch of stuff and messes up the tranny and when he realizes that it's the wrong car drops it back off and runs... The repo place denies liability, etc.
Shady neighbourhood with empty parking lot is the perfect dumping site... everybody would assume stolen car...
