Whats the small hose that goes to the BPV?? Do i really need a clamp there or would a zip tie do?

Whats the small hose that goes to the BPV?? Do i really need a clamp there or would a zip tie do?

it's the vacuum line that make the valve open. i think a clamp is in order.

Default Hmm i was able to drive the car home about 10 miles and its not leaking so would this work or...

Should i change this to a clamp? Also its really noitceable if the BPV is leaking right?

Default if the vacuum hose comes off valve will not operate.

nothing big but it will cause lag and driviblity problems.

Default Hmmm, I'm no expert here...but it seems to me that it might cause a big problem.

If the valve can't open, then boost can't recirculate when the throttle plate closes, which means backpressure builds up on the turbo when you lift off the throttle. Backpressure on the turbo is very bad...I just don't know how much is REALLY bad.

Default Zip ties are generally fine, and they are a good short term solution.

The problem is that they will become brittle with age and they really weren't designed to apply uniform pressure around the hose. You're better off using a good clamp, however I'll bet money that more than half the folks here who have upgraded their BPV's use zip ties. Your choice.

Intake maifold goes from vacuum at idle, to 10psi under boost... put a gauge on the line & see

That line also helps keep the BPV closed too.
