1.8t cvt, dropped it off at the dealer for a tcm replacement and immediately they said they heard a
humming sound in the rear that i never evening noticed. they said it was the fuel filter and replaced it. just curious is this something known to audi as being bad?
fyi, if your transmission display starts flashing, or makes grinding noises when you put the car in reverse then from my experiences a new tcm was in order.

Yes - normal.
Fuel filters are supposedly a lifetime part (yeah, right!) but when they become restricted or clogged, can cause fuel pump failure. I consider fuel filter replacement routine maintenance every 35-40k miles.

the sad part of it is that the car only has about 30k miles on it...ooops i guess i shouldn't talk o
f these kinds of things because it will further kill the resale value of my car...;(
