2004 a4 1.8t qtms Wierd Burning Smell
Just got back from the dealer. My car has 3800 miles on it. Has had a burning smell coming through the vents for the last 2 weeks. Head tech looked at it. Said the valve cover gasket is blown and spitting oil onto the exhaust. Is this common? Anyone else have this problem. Also my engine moves around alot under load. Feels like a mount is broken, but the tech said it is due to the peice of crap motor mount in the front of the motor. Anyone have a solution to this?

Replace motor mount and valve cover gasket....
unless you're running a big turbo with some crazy amount of boost, this shouldn't be happening, which means the factory parts were defective and should be replaced by the dealer for free.
of course, if you're planning to mod later, now's as good a time as any to swap in that snub mount
