Back from long roadtrip
I drove down to San Antonio from Dallas last weekend. I'm still breaking in the engine, but I was pretty pleased by the car's performance. The sport suspension is great. It is firm but confortable on the highway and the tires tracked straight the whole way. In the rain, this car is unbeatable. We had a tropical storm hit last weekend and it rained over six inches. The A4 never lost traction. I found myself passing everyone on the road. I was driving the same speed when everyone else was going 40 to 50. One doesn't realize the quattro is working. The car simply keeps going without losing traction. The power was adequate, especially on the highway. But I can see why people would want to chip. I may modify the exhaust to get a few more hp out of it.
The only real complaint I had about the car was a fair amount of wind noise above 60mph. I'm not sure whether the drivers side window is sealed properly. I'll have the dealer take a look at it when I pick up my new plates. This may be simply a matter of perception. My TT is incredibly quiet on the highway. I was hoping the A4 would be the same.

just one thing, whilst youre applying power to the wheels, traction is there.. but in an emergency
braking situation, you wont have any more traction with quattro than you would with a car using 2 wheels to move it along... remember that.
