Called dealer today to make an appointment.....
to have my new seat cover put in. (I have a tiny rip in my drivers seat (platinum leatherette) and it is being replaced under warranty. Anyways I asked about coilpack situation and he said that he has about 30 cars waiting for new coilpacks. This is Hoffman Audi in CT. He also said that Audi will most likely be doing a recall very soon. Good news is if my coilpack goes I get a loaner. Bad news is it won't be an Audi. Hmm.... I was told when I bought the car that I would be given an Audi if my car was in the shop. 3 weeks without a nice car is scary. Hopefully my coilpack won't go. Audi should reimburse those who have their car in the shop for a month at least one payment.

Yeah 30 seemed high to me also. He must have been....
exaggerating. If mine go they better give me an Audi. Last year I had my GTI in the shop for a window regulator failure (another VW group massive problem with no recall until recently) and I had to drive a Ford Focus for a rental car. They initially gave me a Geo Metro but I refused to drive that bucket. For an extra $20 because VW would not pay for the upgrade I got a lovely base model Ford Focus!

Hello fellow CT'ers, I have a feeling I may be joining you soon....
I thought my 01 GTI wouldn't have all the same problems everyone else did and then once I hit 10K they did happen. I figured Audi would be a little more reliable. Why is Audi letting this happen, or should I say Volkswagen. These are new cars. If I have a coil pack problem and have to wait a month for a part I am raising hell! Why should I make a lease payment on a car I can't even drive! Look at me getting mad and I have no problem yet. Is a BMW in my future? Hope not!

I hear ya ...I've been without my 3.0QMS for two weeks - at least one - two more weeks! SUCKS!
I'm going to call the Better Business Bureau and ask them to work for at least a month or two worth of payments be refunded to me - like you said, I can't drive the car that I just wrote a check for last week. I'm so pissed!
