Chip question: If I bought another ECU with a GIAC chip in it, will it work?
I thought that each ECU is serialized to match each individual car. So, if I bought another person's ECU, would it work or not?
Second question: I have APR Stage 1 with a socketed chip in my ECU. What will it take to get it back to stock and upload REVO on it? Would I have to get a stock chip resoldered in?
Thanks!

It's possible, but you because of immobilzer III you would need a special code from dealer
They need to match the ECU, Dash, Key to each other. Using a VAG-Tool you need to initialize all this using a special code that is created by your dealer using your VIN#.
So yes, it is possible to do an ECU swap, but you probably won't get the dealer to generate this code for you. So in that sense, it's not possible.
