Default Creaking sound on Avants. Anyone found this?

One more gripe for the day. My car is pretty quiet inside, but I get a kind of creak or cracking sound when I go over speedbumps or road irregularities. Sounds like its coming from the right rear area. I've played with the rear seats and cant seem to find it. My 03 Avant did the same thing, so it must be fairly common.
Any answers?

Default Yes - get a lot of them. Taking to the dealer on Sat. to try and fix them once and for all.

I get a lot from the doors, and the plastic "shelf" that runs along the windows on both sides behind the rear seats. Seems to happen when you get body twist more than anything.

Let you know what they find out. This will be the 3rd time I've asked them to fix it.

Default Lubricate the door seals -- fixes all!

I had major noises when going over bumps, etc. -- totally driving me nuts. Then I found Gummi Pflege -- heaven in a bottle! Most BMW dealerships carry it at the parts counter, or get it from Detailer's Paradise.

Basically you apply a thin coat of this stuff to all the rubber around your door (and tailgate) seals and your noises will be GONE. Seriously. And it lasts a while, too.

HTH,

Brian

I did that. It took care of the niggly little squeaks. This is different. Not seal related. MOre of a cracking sound.
Thanks.

Default Been to the dealer four times already for this.

They keep lubricating the latch mechanism, blah blah and it still does it. They blame cold weather as well. Some people used cloth or elec. tape and have had success.

Cant be. I removed mine. Takes up more room than its worth.
I'm going on a mission this weekend to find the noise. I already know the dealership will be useless when it comes to squeak hunts.
