Default If you're talking ride comfort, I would think they s/b almost the same

The suspensions are close, if not identical, same diameter wheel, etc. The difference will be in the engine performance, weight, brakes.

Default Yes!

I test drove an A4 CVT w/sport package, A4 Ultrasport, and S4. Check out my pic poster... I think the US is the best ride of the three. Better handling than std sport pkg., but not as jittery as the S4. The S4 is definitely stiffer than the US. Unless you plan to autocross or SCCA, I don't think you miss the difference. Everyone that rides in my comments on how sporty the ride is w/o being harsh, especially for 18s.

Default No problem! Also, both the 1.8T and the 3.0 get a lot better mileage!

SP757 in Louisville had the new S4 as a loaner and he commented on the hair trigger throttle and having to fill it up at least three times in a week! The gas mileage and significantly higher insurance turned me away from the S4 since I get a monthly stipend from my company for my car. I come out a little ahead with the 1.8T ultrasport. :-)

Default I know that! It's also has twice the HP, but...

I just couldn't see spending $20k more for the car I drove because it rode so stiff. The roads around here suck and it was almost painful. Then there was the insurance and all that extra gas... Plus, the car drinks it even faster when you get on it. Who's going to own an S4 and not get on it? Not me! My buddy averaged less than 13mpg when had the loaner for a week.
