Default Driver's side door int. trim removal

I'm sure this has been done here before to remove speakers, so I'm hoping someone can help me out a bit. I've done a search on AW, and consulted my Bentley, but is there anything specific to know about removing the trim panel on the inside of the driver's side door of my a4? I'm talking about the entire panel, armrest and all, so that I can access the speaker there (believe it has a short causing it to cut out).

Particularly, on Bentley, I noticed that there's some sort of clip holding the door in place that I have to access to remove it. They show what the clip looks like (seems to be round) but they give no indication as to where it's located. Any input is appreciated, thanks!

Default Once you've removed all the screws...

It's just a matter of popping the door panel/skin...

Click on my Sig "ClubBlueMod" for some pics and insight...It's really pretty easy once you remove the door trim (wood in my case).

Default That helps... so there are a bunch of clips? Do you pop them just by gentle prying (more)?

I've taken my car apart enough times to know that Audi uses plenty of cheap little plastic clips that break easily... something to watch out for here as well?

Default When I did the above mod, I had to pop the door skin panel 3 times to get it just to my liking...

and the clips are still intact...

The clips are located on the lower perimeter and the door skin panel hinges on the window opening.

Just place yer fingers on the lower perimeter pull slightly and you will feel where the resistance is...Pull firmly at those points and it will release the clips.

What helps also; The ambient temperature is warm so that the clips are more pliable as opposed to cold and possibly brittle clips.

Hope this helps and good luck
