Default fuel pump failed for the 2nd time 4 month after replacing the original

any reasons for this or could the installed one just have been faulty. Does fuel type matter? I dont think grades of fuel would matter right? thnx

Default I think your conclusion is correct. I think you should request the filter be changed

with the pump. The fact that two pump failures should tell him one thing: something else in the system is causing the failure, and the effect is pump failure.

Default have the fuel tank drained and cleansed. its the dirt n muck that ...

the dirt in the tank.. the lubrication for the pump is the gas. imagine having sex with a lubricated rubber on with sand on the inside.

then imagine the filter having to get clogged up.

the filter should be changed, its $40 aftermarket and i'd do it every 2-3 years. regardless of what audi says. its e-z to do.

Default i paid .5hrs ($25) plus $40 for the filter..

so yeah its not hard to do at all. the $40 filter i think germanautoparts or somewhere like that. maybe clairparts.

really easy to do if you are a vag mechanic or have the tools to uncrimp

The first pump took a crap, clogged the filter with pump crap, and the new pump is working like a pig to pump fuel through the cloggED filter.
